We all love and have fond feelings for our children. We also know that they can bring out the best and the worst in us. We at Akee Consulting want to help bring out the best in you to help you navigate the ever-changing emotions our children present to us.   

We have constructed two workshop series to help our clients adjust to their children's social and emotional needs. Some of those needs may include adjusting to a new school, navigating their home life, or simply dealing with their emotions. Journey Through Parenting (JTP) aims to offer tools to help parents through this thing called 'Parenthood. ' 

We understand that parenting is not one size fits all, and each family is unique. Our goal is to foster a relationship between our clients and us by offering a series of workshops. The series will include three workshops over five months. The workshops build on each other to help families develop a foundation to assist them in forming building blocks to support their child's development.  

Each of the three workshops will be spread out over five months and will be one and a half hours long.  

The format of the workshops will be as follow (Fall workshops will run from August through December. Spring workshops will run January through May): 

• Workshop 1 - Introduction and Next Steps 
• Workshop 2 - Implementation and Accountability 
• Workshop 3 - Accountability and Feedback

Executive functions are the mental skills that we use every day to facilitate learning and manage our everyday lives. Executive function skills consist of 8 pillars that help us focus, handle emotions, follow directions, and a host of things needed to function effectively everyday. Join me as we delve deeper into understanding the tenants of executive function, and we can help our children reach their highest achievements inside and outside of school.   

$30 per participant 

Dealing with difficult emotions can be a challenge for some children. In this workshop, we will delve into how to help children find the root cause of their emotions. By helping children better understand their emotions, a healthy dialogue can begin. Then, children will collaborate with their parents to devise tools to help continue the open discussion surrounding their emotions.
